There’s something about chaos that makes you let go. You don’t have to try. Any control lingering around in your system has got to pop out or it strengthens like a sinew. I’ve never seen anything like it: the first day of public elementary school. From the inside. From the outside, it looks like a normal scene — adults, children, backpacks, untied shoes. But from the inside? A motley crew mixed with imminence, precedence, and chaos like I’ve never seen before. And sure, while we’re at it, let’s throw a fire drill in there.
